Himachal HC reinstates nurse's appointment
A nurse named Kajal Mehra was hired by the Health Department in Himachal Pradesh in 2022.
However, the department later said she shouldn't have been hired because the job was for people who graduated in 2011, but she graduated in 2014.
The department took back her job offer.
She went to the High Court and said she didn't do anything wrong.
The court looked at her case and agreed with her.
They said the mistake was made by the people who hired her, not by her.
The court also said that no one else was hurt by this mistake.
So, the court decided that she should keep her job.
The court also said that if she wants her job to be made permanent, the department should look at her case according to the rules.
The Himachal High Court quashed the Health Department's order to withdraw the appointment of staff nurse Kajal Mehra.
Mehra was appointed in 2022 despite being from the 2014 batch for a post advertised for the 2011 batch.
The Health Department withdrew her appointment in 2024 after a complaint was lodged with the Vigilance Department.
The High Court noted that the mistake was made by the Selection Committee, not by Mehra.
The court ordered that any prayer made by Mehra for regularisation of her job should be considered according to the law.
