EPFO to launch UPI-based EPF withdrawals by April 2026
The EPFO is going to make it easier for people to take out money from their provident fund savings.
Starting in April 2026, they can use UPI to get their money quickly.
The rules for taking out money are also being simplified into three main categories: for important needs, buying a house, and special situations.
People can take out almost all their money, but they have to keep at least 25% in their account to keep earning interest.
This change will help about eight crore people and make the process much faster, taking only three days for eligible withdrawals.
The government is making sure the system is ready and working well before it starts.
The EPFO is also working with four fund managers to manage their debt portfolio.
