CPI Stages Dharna in Guntur Over Disease Outbreak
The Communist Party of India (CPI) held a protest in Guntur because many people there are getting sick from diarrhea and cholera.
They say the sickness is caused by dirty drinking water and that the city officials aren't doing enough to fix it.
The CPI leaders want the officials to clean the water tanks, fix leaky pipes, and take better care of the drainage system.
They feel that even after many years, people still don't have access to safe water.
The CPI Guntur city committee organized a dharna on Monday.
The protest was held in front of the Guntur Municipal Corporation.
The dharna was to demand control measures against the diarrhea and cholera outbreak.
CPI leaders cited contaminated water and negligent officials as causes.
Leaders demanded immediate cleaning and repair of water systems.
