Crash severity emerges as Rajasthan's biggest road safety challenge
In Jaipur, the number of road accidents has gone down, but more people are dying in these accidents.
This is because the crashes that do happen are more severe.
The police are trying to make roads safer by giving more tickets to people who break traffic rules and by teaching people to wear helmets.
They are also working to improve traffic management, especially in rural areas where there are fewer traffic signals and people don't always follow the rules.
The goal is to make roads safer so fewer people die in accidents.
Road accidents in Jaipur decreased by 5.6% in 2025 compared to 2024.
Fatalities increased by 3.1%, with 1,273 deaths in 2025.
The fatality rate reached 34.7 deaths per 100 accidents, the highest in five years.
Jaipur Rural district had the most fatalities, with 426 deaths out of 805 accidents.
A special traffic enforcement campaign was launched to reduce accidents and promote helmet use.
