BJP Hails Withdrawal of Karnataka’s Five-Percent Park Land Bill

The Karnataka government withdrew a proposal about using some park land for infrastructure.

BJP leader R. Ashoka said this happened because people and the BJP protested.

He said Bengaluru’s parks and trees should be protected.

He warned that using 5% of park land could eventually lead to using even more.

Ashoka connected the loss of green spaces with flooding during heavy rain.

He also criticized the proposed tunnel-road project and the government’s drainage preparations.

The BJP had planned protests and a large signature campaign.

Ashoka asked for a longer Assembly session to discuss farmers’ problems and other state issues.
