J&K Reservation Policy Sparks Protests
There are big protests happening in Jammu and Kashmir.
One protest is about job reservations, where a politician named Aga Syed Ruhullah Mehdi from the National Conference (NC) party is threatening to protest outside the Chief Minister's house if the government doesn't fix the issue soon.
The NC says they have already decided on the new reservation rules and sent them to the Lieutenant Governor for approval.
Another protest is happening outside Lok Bhavan in Jammu, where people are burning an effigy of the Lieutenant Governor.
They want the government to change the list of students admitted to a medical college so that more seats are reserved for Hindu students.
The protests are causing traffic problems and the police are trying to keep everything under control.
The government is trying to make things fairer, but people are upset because it's taking too long to get approved.
The General category, which is about 70% of the population, currently gets only 40% of the jobs.
The new policy proposes to increase this to 50%, but it's still waiting for approval.
There are also other groups like Scheduled Tribes and Scheduled Castes that have their own quotas, making the total reservations over 60%.
