Ted Lasso Season 4 Loses Plot, Critic Argues
A reviewer thinks Ted Lasso was better when it was new and surprising.
They believe Season 4 repeats ideas from earlier seasons.
The review says Ted, Rebecca, Keeley, Roy, and Beard have not changed much.
It also says their relationships are solved too easily instead of through difficult conversations.
The new women’s football team is supposed to bring fresh stories.
However, the reviewer feels many of those stories disappear quickly.
Alice, an assistant coach, receives advice from Ted and Beard instead of becoming the main leader herself.
The reviewer believes the season gives too many simple lessons about being positive.
Overall, they think the show has lost the tension and emotional complexity that made it popular.
A review argues that Ted Lasso should have ended after Season 3.
After seven of ten Season 4 episodes, the reviewer says major character arcs remain stagnant.
The new season centers on AFC Richmond’s women’s team but allegedly repeats the show’s earlier formula.
The review criticizes the season’s lack of tension, conflict, and meaningful struggles for new characters.
It argues that Alice Chilton’s development relies too heavily on advice from Ted and Beard rather than her own leadership.
