BJP Leader Criticizes Congress Over Election Process Doubts
Ponguleti Sudhakar Reddy, a BJP leader, criticized Congress over its comments about elections.
He said Congress trusts the election system when it wins, but questions it when it loses.
He also said Congress was creating doubts about changes to voter lists.
Reddy explained that filing Form 7 does not by itself remove someone from the voter list.
Officials must check the matter and follow the required steps first.
He said voters should feel sure their right to vote is protected.
He also said political parties can raise genuine concerns.
But, in his view, spreading false information about election institutions for political reasons is wrong.
Former MLC Ponguleti Sudhakar Reddy accused Congress of questioning election institutions when results do not favour it.
Reddy said Congress accepts the electoral system when it wins but criticizes it after losses.
He alleged Congress was creating doubts about the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls and Forms 6 and 7.
Reddy said submitting Form 7 alone cannot remove a voter’s name; verification, notice and due process are required.
He said voters’ rights should be protected and parties may raise legitimate concerns, but misinformation about election institutions is unacceptable.
