Unemployed Youth Protest in Kurnool
In Kurnool, Andhra Pradesh, many young people who don't have jobs and student leaders protested at the collectorate.
They wanted the government to create at least 10,000 new jobs in the police department.
The government said they would only create 2,500 jobs.
The protesters said this is not fair because some communities might not get many jobs.
The protest made it hard for people to submit their complaints to the government.
The police were there to keep things calm.
The protesters only left after talking to government officials.
Hundreds of unemployed youth and student union leaders protested at Kurnool collectorate.
They demanded the government issue a notification for at least 10,000 police posts.
Protesters alleged the government reduced vacancies from 23,000 to 2,500.
The protest disrupted the regular Praja Grievance Redressal System (PGRS) programme.
Authorities closed the collectorate gates and deployed heavy police presence.
