France’s football federation no longer supports Gianni Infantino for another term as FIFA president.

Philippe Diallo, its president, announced the decision.

Infantino had proposed selling part of FIFA’s competitions to private investors.

That plan was dropped in July after football groups strongly opposed it.

Other European football federations, including those of England and Italy, have also withdrawn their support.

UEFA, the Asian Football Confederation and CONCACAF want a change in FIFA leadership.

South America’s CONMEBOL and Africa’s CAF still support Infantino.

The FIFA election is scheduled for March 18, 2027, in Rabat.
