The university was started by two famous music teachers, Pandit Vishnu Digambar Paluskar and Pandit Vishnu Narayan Bhatkhande, in 1926.

It was first called Marris College of Music and was opened by Sir William Marris.

Additionally, the government of Uttar Pradesh decided to launch a statewide cleanliness drive on the occasion of Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s birth anniversary.

This campaign aims to convey Atal Ji’s vision of a Clean, Strong, and Self-Reliant India.

The cleanliness campaign will be conducted in all urban and rural areas, involving public representatives, officers, employees, voluntary organizations, youth, and common citizens.

Various activities and competitions will be organized at both district and state levels to inspire the younger generation and citizens with Atal Ji’s life values, patriotism, democratic ethics, and spirit of service.
