Andhra Pradesh Distributes New Pattadar Passbooks
The government of Andhra Pradesh is giving out new passbooks to farmers and landowners.
These passbooks have the state's emblem on them and show who owns which land.
The old passbooks had the picture of the previous chief minister, which people didn't like.
The new passbooks are being given out from January 2nd to January 9th.
The chief minister said this is a gift to farmers for the new year.
Farmers are happy because the new passbooks don't have the old chief minister's picture anymore.
The government is also fixing mistakes from the past to make sure everyone has the right land records.
Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu described the distribution of new pattadar passbooks as a 'New Year gift to farmers'.
The new passbooks bear the Andhra Pradesh state emblem, replacing those with the previous chief minister's photograph.
Distribution began on January 2 and will continue until January 9, with MLAs and ministers handing over the documents.
The government aims to correct past mistakes in land records and restore confidence in the system.
