Maharashtra Receives ₹335 Crore for Agriculture Development

Maharashtra has received ₹335 crore from the central government for agricultural development.

This is the first time a state has qualified for the second installment of the Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana (RKVY).

The state will add another ₹223 crore, making the total funds available ₹558 crore.

These funds will be used for various agricultural projects like micro-irrigation, farm mechanisation, and organic farming.

The central government praised Maharashtra for effectively using over 75% of the allocated funds under RKVY and 81.73% under the Mission for Integrated Development of Horticulture (MIDH).

The additional funding aims to boost agricultural development, strengthen infrastructure, and support farmer welfare initiatives.

The state has also requested more funds for Nashik to boost fruit and vegetable production ahead of the Kumbh Mela in 2027.
