Comprehensive Infant and Child Health Pilot to Launch in Rajasthan
The Government of India is starting a child-health program in two Rajasthan districts.
It will focus on babies and children up to three years old.
Health workers will regularly check their health, nutrition, and development.
Children who may be at risk will be identified early.
These children can receive home visits and be sent to health centres or hospitals.
ASHA workers will use an app called Shaishav App to record information.
The app can also provide alerts when children need more care.
The main goal is to begin treatment early and reduce deaths among children under five.
The Government of India will pilot the SSBSK child-health program in Rajasthan’s Bharatpur and Alwar districts.
The program will monitor children from birth to age three for health, nutrition, and development.
Children will be classified as normal or at risk, with vulnerable children receiving home follow-ups and referrals.
The Shaishav App will help ASHA workers record health data and identify children needing medical attention.
The program aims to reduce under-five mortality through earlier detection, treatment, and post-hospitalisation follow-up.
