Bombay HC Allows Pratibha Tower Redevelopment After Decades
A building in Mumbai called Pratibha Tower is finally allowed to be rebuilt after many years of problems.
It was first built in 1984, but had issues with breaking building rules.
The top floors were knocked down because they were built without permission.
Now, the people who live there decided to rebuild, but one person tried to stop it.
The court said the rebuild can continue because most people agreed.
The developer is also giving people more space in their new apartments.
The court is delaying a ruling on compensation for damages until later to prevent more delays in the project.
Bombay High Court denied a plea to halt the redevelopment of Pratibha Tower.
The Saidale Cooperative Housing Society can proceed with reconstruction.
The building's original construction began in 1984 but faced issues with FSI consumption.
Society member Devyani Gulabsi challenged the redevelopment.
The court found no evidence of fraud or misrepresentation.
