CPI(M) Demands Tamil Nadu Chief Secretary’s Removal Over Circular

CPI(M) Demands Tamil Nadu Chief Secretary’s Removal Over Circular

The CPI(M) says a government circular wrongly tried to stop college students from joining certain political protests.

It wants Tamil Nadu Chief Secretary M. Sai Kumar removed and investigated.

The party says he chaired a meeting connected to the circular.

The circular was sent to university registrars and has not been withdrawn, according to the report.

The Higher Education Minister called the circular a mistake, but the CPI(M) said that explanation was not enough.

The party also objected to a separate order in Dindigul seeking information about Left-party members.

That order’s tehsildar was transferred, but no punishment was reported.

The CPI(M) and CPI provide important outside support to Chief Minister Vijay’s government.

The party says these actions raise questions about whether officials are answerable to the elected government.
