Indian Auto Industry Sees Strong Growth in 2025
In December 2025, several major car and tractor companies in India reported strong sales growth.
Mahindra & Mahindra sold a lot more SUVs and commercial vehicles compared to the previous year, with a 25% increase.
Kia India had its best December ever, selling more than twice as many cars as the year before.
JSW MG Motor India also saw a 19% increase in sales for the year.
Tractor sales were also up, with Mahindra & Mahindra and Escorts Kubota both reporting significant growth.
This growth was helped by good economic conditions, government support, and positive feelings among consumers and farmers.
Mahindra & Mahindra reported a 25% year-on-year growth in auto sales, with 86,090 units sold in December 2025, including 50,946 SUVs and 24,786 commercial vehicles.
Kia India recorded its best-ever December with 18,659 units sold, a 105% year-on-year growth, and a 15% annual growth in 2025.
JSW MG Motor India saw a 19% year-on-year sales growth in 2025, with 70,554 units sold and 6,500 units in December 2025.
Tractor sales surged, with Mahindra & Mahindra selling 30,210 units in December 2025, a 37% year-on-year growth, and Escorts Kubota selling 6,828 units, a 36.1% year-on-year growth.
The growth was driven by favorable macroeconomic conditions, government policies, and positive consumer and rural sentiment.
