Sabarimala Gold Theft: Former TDB Presidents Arrested
The Special Investigation Team (SIT) has arrested two former presidents of the Travancore Devaswom Board (TDB) in connection with the theft of gold from Sabarimala temple.
A Padmakumar was arrested for his role as TDB president when a proposal to hand over gold-clad copper plates was considered.
His successor, N Vasu, was arrested as he was the Devaswom Commissioner during the actual handover.
BJP workers protested against Vasu's arrest.
So far, five people have been arrested in two related cases.
