Modi Highlights Women’s Gains, Drug-Free Youth and Local Products
Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke about several issues during his monthly radio address.
He said many women street vendors have received business loans through the PM SVANidhi scheme.
The loans can help vendors expand shops selling items such as tea, vegetables, fruits and lamps.
The scheme began in 2020 and has helped millions of people.
Modi also asked people to help create a country without drug addiction.
He encouraged content creators to make anti-drug messages in different Indian languages.
He asked people to buy products made in India.
He also said growing avocados in India is giving some farmers extra income.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi said women represent 46% of PM SVANidhi beneficiaries, with about 3.5 million women receiving support.
The scheme has 7.8 million beneficiaries and ₹19,203 crore has been disbursed since its 2020 launch.
The article inconsistently describes the 35 lakh women figure as both 3.5 million and 350,000.
Modi urged citizens and content creators to support the Nasha-mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat anti-drug campaign.
He also promoted Indian-made goods and said locally grown avocados are increasing farmers’ incomes.
