House Passes $901 Billion Defense Bill
The U.S. House of Representatives passed a big $901 billion defense bill.
This bill does a lot of things.
It gives soldiers a pay raise, supports Ukraine with money for weapons, and makes plans to be ready for any problems with China.
It also stops using old rules for wars and helps Israel with technology.
The bill also says the U.S. can't buy important things from countries like China, Russia, Iran, and North Korea.
It even makes rules to stop small drones from causing trouble.
Some things, like helping with fertility treatments and making military housing better, didn't make it into the bill.
The Senate will look at it next.
The House passed a $901 billion defense bill, including a 3.8% pay raise for troops.
The bill supports Ukraine with $400 million annually for weapons and maintains U.S. troop levels in Europe.
It extends the Pacific Deterrence Initiative and requires military exercises to prepare for a potential crisis with China.
The bill repeals old war authorizations and boosts cooperation with Israel on defense technology.
It restricts purchases from foreign adversaries and creates a task force to counter small drones.
