ISRO and NIOT to Develop Deep-Sea Human Submersible
Imagine a special submarine that can take people super deep into the ocean!
The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) is working on this with the National Institute of Ocean Technology (NIOT).
They've teamed up to build a vessel called MATSYA-6000.
This vessel is a strong sphere made of special metal that can handle the enormous pressure way down in the ocean.
It will carry a team of three people to explore the deep sea.
This project is part of a bigger plan to learn more about our oceans.
ISRO and NIOT signed a Memorandum of Understanding for the MATSYA-6000.
MATSYA-6000 is a submersible spherical vessel designed to carry humans.
The vessel is part of the Deep Ocean Mission of the Ministry of Earth Sciences.
The vessel can carry a three-member crew up to 6km deep.
The vessel is made of Titanium alloy and can withstand extreme pressure.
