Andhra Pradesh Leads India in Energy Conservation Building Code Implementation
Imagine buildings need electricity to work, just like our homes.
The Energy Conservation Building Code (ECBC) is a set of rules to help new buildings use less electricity.
Andhra Pradesh has become the best state in India at following these rules.
They have gotten approval for 786 buildings that are energy-smart!
This is more than any other state.
They have done other energy-saving things before, like putting in special lights that use less power in a city called Visakhapatnam.
By making buildings save energy, they are helping the environment by reducing pollution and making their cities better for the future.
Other states are also working on this, but Andhra Pradesh is leading the way.
Andhra Pradesh has become India's No. 1 state in implementing the Energy Conservation Building Code (ECBC).
The state has approved 786 ECBC-compliant buildings, the highest number nationwide.
This initiative is supported by the Municipal Administration & Urban Development Department and the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE).
Andhra Pradesh was also the first state to deploy energy-efficient LED streetlighting in Visakhapatnam in 2014.
The state is focusing on global standards and best practices for sustainable infrastructure to maintain its leadership in energy-efficient development.
