Elderly Thane Woman Defrauded of Rs 24.6 Lakh by Seven Individuals
An older woman living alone in Thane was tricked out of a lot of money, about 24.6 lakh rupees.
Some people, including women, became her friends.
They first said they would help her find a house and took some money.
Later, they told her a special fire ceremony called a 'havan' was needed to fix problems with getting her money back.
During this ceremony, they gave her some prasad, which is a sacred food.
The prasad had medicine in it, and she fell asleep.
While she was sleeping, the people took her gold, diamonds, and other valuable things and ran away.
The police are now investigating and have filed a case against the seven people involved.
