Study Finds Type 2 Diabetes Affects Men and Women Differently

A study looked at how type 2 diabetes affects men and women differently.

It found that women with the condition were more likely to be diagnosed with certain mental health problems.

These included anxiety, depression and somatoform disorders.

About 8.1% of women received one of these diagnoses.

Among men, the figure was 5.3%.

The study also found that men were more likely to be diagnosed with CVD/ESRD across all age groups.

This suggests that men and women may face different health challenges after developing type 2 diabetes.

The researchers said women may have a gender-specific vulnerability to some mental health conditions.
