IndiGo Receives First Airbus A321XLR Aircraft
IndiGo, a big airline in India, just got its first new super-efficient airplane called the Airbus A321XLR.
This airplane can fly really far, about 8,700 kilometers, which is like flying from India to Europe without stopping.
IndiGo plans to use it to start flying directly to Athens from Delhi and Mumbai.
They have ordered 40 of these airplanes, and nine more will join their fleet next year.
This airplane is special because it can fly far like big planes but uses less fuel and costs less to operate.
After Athens, IndiGo wants to use these airplanes to fly to other places like Istanbul, Bali, and more cities in Europe and East Asia.
This will help them fly to more places and make more money.
IndiGo received its first Airbus A321XLR aircraft, part of an order for 40.
The aircraft will be deployed on non-stop services from Delhi and Mumbai to Athens later this month.
Nine more A321XLRs are expected to join IndiGo’s fleet in 2026.
The A321XLR offers a range of approximately 8,700 km, enabling direct flights on long-distance routes.
Future deployments include routes to Istanbul, Denpasar (Bali), and other destinations in Europe and East Asia.
