West Bengal Releases NEET UG 2026 Counselling Round 1 Schedule
NEET is a big test that students in India take if they want to become doctors or dentists when they grow up.
Passing the test is not the last step though.
Students also need to pick which medical college they want to go to.
The state of West Bengal has made a schedule to help with this, called counselling.
The schedule for the first round was announced on August 11.
Students who passed the test can sign up online from August 13 to August 16.
Then they fill in the list of colleges they like, and on August 25 the state will tell them which college they got.
Students must go to their new college on August 26, 27 or 28 to finish joining.
If they change their mind, they can give up their seat on September 3.
The schedule is tentative, so students should keep checking for updates.
West Bengal Directorate of Medical Education released the tentative Round 1 NEET UG 2026 counselling schedule for state quota, private management quota and NRI quota seats.
Online registration runs from August 13 at 11 am to August 16 at 6 pm, with fee payment open until midnight on August 16.
Candidate verification is scheduled for August 14, 16 and 18 from 11 am to 4 pm, and is not applicable to NRI candidates.
Choice filling and locking runs from August 19 at 4 pm to August 21 at 4 pm, with the Round 1 seat allotment result announced on August 25 after 4 pm.
Allotted candidates must complete reporting and admission on August 26-28, and seats can be surrendered at the college level on September 3 from 11 am to 4 pm.
