APPCB Chief Reviews Environmental Controls at Jonnagiri Gold Project

An official from Andhra Pradesh’s pollution control board visited a gold project at Jonnagiri.

The project is run by Geomysore Services.

The official looked at how the company mines and processes ore.

Company representatives said each tonne of ore produces about 1.30 grams of gold.

The official also checked systems meant to control pollution and treat wastewater.

He said the air monitoring and dust-control measures met required standards.

The site has a 30-acre greenbelt with 33,372 plants.

He said the mine must follow its environmental rules, conserve water, and manage waste from mining carefully.
