Apple Pay Enters India’s Digital Payments Market With Axis Bank
Apple has launched Apple Pay in India with help from Axis Bank.
People with eligible Axis Bank credit cards can add them to Apple Pay.
They can then use an iPhone, iPad or Apple Watch to pay.
Mac support is expected soon.
Payments can be made in stores, apps and on websites.
Users do not need to type a PIN or OTP at checkout.
Apple says it keeps card numbers protected instead of sharing them with shops.
If a device is lost, its owner can use Find My to lock or stop payments.
Apple launched Apple Pay in India in partnership with Axis Bank.
The service works on iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch, with Mac support coming soon.
Axis Bank Visa and Mastercard credit-card holders can pay without entering PINs or OTPs at checkout.
Apple Pay will work across millions of Indian merchants, including Zomato, Blinkit, Croma and Reliance brands.
Apple says card numbers and transaction details are protected and not stored or shared with merchants.
