Tharoor: Pakistan Must Act First to Normalise Ties
India is hesitant to improve its relationship with Pakistan because of past actions.
A prominent Indian politician, Shashi Tharoor, explained that India has tried to be friendly with Pakistan in the past, but these efforts were not reciprocated.
He believes Pakistan needs to show it is serious about stopping terrorist groups operating from its territory.
Tharoor pointed out that even after the 2008 Mumbai attacks, which India said Pakistan was involved in, no one was punished.
He also said that for India's safety and progress, peace on its borders is very important, like other countries that have put aside their differences.
Shashi Tharoor stated India won't take the first step to normalize ties with Pakistan.
Tharoor cited repeated betrayals by Pakistan as the reason for India's stance.
He urged Pakistan to demonstrate sincerity by dismantling terror networks.
Tharoor mentioned India provided evidence of Pakistani involvement in the 2008 Mumbai attacks, but no masterminds were prosecuted.
He highlighted the importance of peace on borders for national interest.
