Tata Sons Board Renews Chandrasekaran Amid Noel Tata Opposition

Tata Sons is the holding company at the center of the Tata Group.

Its board approved keeping N Chandrasekaran as chairman for another five years.

This happened shortly after he said he would not ask for more time.

Noel Tata, who leads Tata Trusts, disagreed with the decision.

Tata Trusts owns about 66% of Tata Sons.

The board also wants Tata Sons to become a publicly listed company.

Noel Tata wants the company to remain private.

The disagreements may now be discussed at a shareholder meeting and could lead to a legal fight.
