Opposition slams Modi’s ‘naraz phupha’ Teacher’s Day speech

Prime Minister Narendra Modi gave a speech to students on Teacher’s Day.

He used the phrase “naraz phupha,” meaning “angry uncle,” for people who disagree with him.

Opposition leaders said this was an unfair way to treat people who ask questions.

They said students are facing unemployment, exam paper leaks and expensive education.

They also complained about problems at universities, such as a lack of facilities and hostels.

The Aam Aadmi Party connected the speech to a building collapse in Satya Niketan.

At the time, 30–40 students were feared trapped under the rubble.

The critics said students need safe buildings and government accountability.

They argued that labels and jokes do not solve these problems.
