Anurag Kashyap distances himself from Bandar, says criticism was ‘valid’: ‘Not my final cut’ · indianexpress.com

Anurag Kashyap, the director of the film Bandar, has said that the version of the movie that was released is not his final cut.

He believes that the criticisms the movie received, especially about it being misogynistic and anti-MeToo movement, are valid.

Kashyap explained that due to the corporatization of the film industry and limited choices, he couldn't ensure his final vision was represented.

He also mentioned that the studio's edits changed the perspective of the film.

“"When I said don’t watch, it’s because I can’t own up… If you noticed, I didn’t give any interviews on the film. Because whatever came out is not my final cut. So, the criticisms that came the movie’s way are quite valid."”
