Indian Indexes Face More Near-Term Falls Despite Long-Term Bullish Outlook

Indian Indexes Face More Near-Term Falls Despite Long-Term Bullish Outlook

Several important Indian stock-market indexes fell last week.

The Nifty 50 and Sensex dropped by more than 2%, while the Nifty Bank index fell 1.33%.

Foreign investors also sold Indian shares for the second week in a row.

Analysts think prices may fall more in the short term.

The Nifty 50 could move toward 22,600–22,500, while the Sensex could move toward 73,500–73,400.

The Nifty Bank index could fall toward 55,000 or even 54,000.

However, the analysts still expect the indexes to recover over the medium and long term.

Their positive view would weaken if the indexes break important support levels.

The midcap and smallcap indexes also have support levels that could help them recover.
