Jan Vishwas Bill: Aiming for Trust and Ease of Business
The government is making some changes to laws to make things easier for people and businesses.
They are removing punishments like jail time for small mistakes and replacing them with fines.
This new bill builds on a previous one from 2023 and plans to change rules in many different areas, like driving and medicine.
The goal is to trust people more, help businesses, and make life simpler.
A special group in the government will look at the bill closely and give their thoughts soon.
The Jan Vishwas (Amendment of Provisions) Bill, 2025 aims to strengthen trust-based governance.
It proposes decriminalization of 288 provisions across 16 Central Acts.
Minor contraventions under 76 provisions will attract only an advisory or warning.
Imprisonment for minor defaults will be replaced with monetary penalties.
