Boxing Nationals Delayed by Equipment Issues
The Senior Boxing National Championships in Greater Noida started very late on Sunday.
The event was supposed to begin at 2:00 PM, but it didn't start until 6:30 PM.
This happened because the boxing rings and lighting equipment arrived late, and then a steel wire in one of the rings broke.
The organizers had told the boxers earlier that there might be a delay.
Despite the issues, all the matches for the day went ahead as planned.
Some of India's top boxers, like Nikhat Zareen and Lovlina Borgohain, are competing in this event.
The championships were also moved from December 31 to January 4 because of pollution control rules.
The Senior Boxing National Championships in Greater Noida started four and a half hours late due to equipment delays and a snapped steel wire.
The event was originally scheduled to begin at 2:00 PM but started at 6:30 PM.
The delay was caused by the late arrival of three boxing rings and lighting equipment, and a snapped steel wire in one of the rings.
The Boxing Federation of India (BFI) had informed the boxers about the potential delay earlier.
Despite the issues, all matches for the day went ahead as scheduled, with two out of three rings operational.
