Supreme Court Directs Special Narcotics Courts Within Six Weeks

The Supreme Court wants special courts to handle drug-related cases.

It said the number of these cases has risen alarmingly.

The order applies to the central government, state governments and Union territories.

These authorities must work quickly to create the courts.

They must also provide buildings and other needed facilities.

The court said the work should preferably be completed within six weeks.

The case was started by the court itself.

It is titled "In Re: creation of special exclusive courts."
