Road cave-in disrupts wedding dinner in Surat
Imagine you're at a wedding, having a great time with your family and friends.
Suddenly, the ground beneath you starts to sink, creating a huge hole!
That's exactly what happened in Surat, India.
A big crater, about as deep as a two-story building, opened up near a wedding venue.
The guests were scared and had to run away quickly.
Luckily, no one was hurt.
Firefighters, city officials, and metro workers came to the scene to fix the road and find out what caused the hole.
They think it might have something to do with the metro tunnel being built underground.
It's like when you're building a sandcastle and accidentally dig too much, causing a part of it to collapse.
The officials are now working to make sure this doesn't happen again.
A 20-foot-deep crater opened up near a wedding venue in Surat, India, causing panic among guests.
The cave-in disrupted the wedding dinner, with a pandal pole and several chairs collapsing into the crater.
Officials from the Surat Fire Department, Surat Municipal Corporation (SMC), and Surat Metro Rail Network responded to the incident.
The area was cordoned off, and repair work began immediately.
The possible cause of the cave-in is the digging of an underground Metro Rail tunnel in the area.
