MPCB shuts four RMC plants in Mumbai region
The Maharashtra Pollution Control Board (MPCB) has shut down four ready-mix concrete plants in the Mumbai area because they were not following environmental rules.
The board checked 163 plants and found that four were not following the rules, so they had to close.
They also told 59 plants to make changes and gave warnings to 34 others.
The board collected a lot of money as penalties from plants that were not following the rules.
They also checked big construction projects and fined two of them for causing air pollution.
The MPCB is working hard to make the air cleaner in Mumbai and is giving help to the plants to follow the rules better.
They have special teams and machines to check the air quality and will take more action if needed.
