West Bengal Opposition Raises Concerns Over BLO Appointments
The leader of the opposition in West Bengal is worried about who is helping to manage elections.
He found out that some people who work for the ruling party have been chosen to be BLOs, who are responsible for voter registration.
He's concerned that these people might try to change the election results to favor their party.
He wants the election officials to remove these people from their positions to keep the elections fair.
There are also claims that the rules for selecting BLOs and electoral registration officers haven't been followed correctly.
West Bengal's Leader of the Opposition raised concerns about Trinamool Congress members being appointed as BLOs.
A specific example cited was Md. Alauddin Molla, a Trinamool Congress area president, appointed as a BLO.
Adhikari expressed fears that these appointments could lead to electoral manipulation.
He requested the CEO to remove politically affiliated individuals from BLO positions.
Concerns also exist regarding irregularities in the selection of BLOs and EROs.
