Maharashtra Restarts Registration Of BHMS-CCMP Doctors After Halt

The Maharashtra Medical Council has started registering some homoeopathy doctors who completed a course in modern pharmacology.

These doctors can practise modern medicine only within the limits allowed by the course rules.

The council had briefly stopped registrations after one doctor was registered.

The state government cancelled that stop order on August 20.

Dr Neha Pawar was the first doctor to receive conditional registration.

Two other doctors were registered by Monday evening.

The Indian Medical Association and resident doctors oppose the registrations because they are worried about patient safety.

They say they may continue their fight in court and through public action.
