Melania Trump and Peng Liyuan Explore Asian Art Museum

Melania Trump and Peng Liyuan visited an Asian art museum in Washington.

They looked at art from both the United States and China.

One important display was the Peacock Room, which James McNeill Whistler created using ideas from Asian art.

They also saw a colorful Chinese vase made more than 200 years ago.

The vase was produced in Jingdezhen during the Qianlong emperor’s reign.

Museum leaders explained the artworks to them.

The visit ended with songs performed by children from Hope Chinese School.

The event showed how art can connect different countries and generations.
