Maruti Suzuki Q1 Profit Falls 10% Amid Rising Material Costs
Maruti Suzuki, India's biggest carmaker, made less money in the first quarter of 2026 than it did a year earlier.
Even though it sold more cars, the cost of parts went up a lot, especially because of the war in Ukraine.
The company’s profit fell about 11%.
It still sold a record number of cars, especially SUVs, and plans to raise prices by up to ₹30,000 next year.
The company said it will try new fuel projects and keep its production strong.
Net profit fell 10.8% YoY to ₹3,352 crore, below estimates.
Revenue rose 35.9% to ₹52,456 crore, beating forecasts.
EBITDA margin dropped to 8.2% from 12% due to a 45.9% jump in raw material costs.
Sales volumes grew 29.3% to 682,724 units, with SUV sales up 44.6%.
Company announced a price hike of up to ₹30,000 effective August 2026.
