Indian Cooperatives Launch 'Bharat' Taxi Service to Compete with Rivals
A group of cooperatives in India are joining forces to start their own taxi service, named 'Bharat,' to take on popular ride-hailing services like Ola and Uber.
They've collected money from their members and have already recruited 200 drivers in different states.
The plan is to launch by the end of the year.
The aim is to pay drivers better and offer passengers safe and affordable rides.
The project is fully funded by the cooperatives themselves.
They're also working to find a technology partner to build the app.
