Poland intercepts Russian spy plane
On Christmas Day, Poland sent fighter jets to check a Russian spy plane flying near its borders over the Baltic Sea.
At the same time, many objects, including some balloons used for smuggling, entered Poland's airspace from Belarus.
Poland thinks this might have been a planned disturbance, especially since similar things have happened in other nearby countries like Lithuania and Estonia.
NATO is also very alert because of these incidents.
Poland even closed part of its airspace to keep people safe.
Poland intercepted a Russian reconnaissance plane near its airspace over the Baltic Sea on December 25.
Several dozen objects entered Polish airspace from Belarus, with four identified as smuggling balloons.
Poland's National Security Bureau suggested the incident might be a provocation disguised as a smuggling operation.
Part of the airspace over the northeast Podlaskie region was temporarily closed for civilian safety.
NATO's Eastern flank is on high alert due to repeated airspace incursions by Russia.
