PFRDA Launches NPS Sanchay Pension Awareness Yatra Across Four Cities
The Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority is starting a pension-awareness trip called the NPS Sanchay Pension Yatra.
It will visit four Indian cities from 1 October to 16 October 2026.
The campaign will explain how people can save money for retirement.
NPS Sanchay is part of the National Pension System.
It is especially meant to help informal-sector workers, such as farmers, shopkeepers and gig workers.
However, all eligible Indian citizens between 18 and 85 years old can apply.
People can begin investing with ₹250 and later contribute as little as ₹10.
They do not have to make a fixed contribution every year.
At retirement, most of the money can be taken at once, while at least 20% must buy an annuity that provides regular pension income.
The Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority will hold the NPS Sanchay Pension Yatra from 1 October to 16 October 2026.
The awareness drive will take place in Delhi, Ahmedabad, Bengaluru and Kolkata.
NPS Sanchay is a retirement-focused National Pension System scheme aimed especially at informal-sector workers.
Eligible Indian citizens aged 18 to 85 can open accounts through authorised Points of Presence or approved online platforms.
Subscribers can start with ₹250, make later contributions from ₹10, and withdraw up to 80% of their corpus as a lump sum after the applicable exit conditions.
