Private Schools Plan Programmes on Syama Prasad Mookerjee

Private Schools Plan Programmes on Syama Prasad Mookerjee

West Bengal’s government plans to include Syama Prasad Mookerjee’s story in textbooks at state-run and aided schools.

Private schools do not have to follow that instruction.

Still, some private schools say they will teach students about him through assemblies and other activities.

The Heritage School has already held an assembly about him.

It also plans to write about him in its school diary next year.

Another school plans a programme on July 6, the date of his birth anniversary.

Julien Day Schools plans to talk about him during special assemblies around August 15.

These plans are voluntary for the private schools mentioned.
