SBI Launches Actively Managed Quality Fund
SBI Mutual Fund is launching a new investment fund called the SBI Quality Fund.
This fund will invest in around 30 high-quality companies from a pool of 450 stocks.
The companies will be chosen based on strong fundamentals, good governance, and sustainable business models.
The fund will use four different strategies to pick stocks: companies with strong competitive advantages, high-quality companies at fair prices, companies with strong future potential but currently low financial metrics, and high-quality companies that have faced temporary setbacks.
The fund is actively managed, which means the managers can choose which stocks to include and how much to invest in each.
This is different from passive funds that just follow a set index.
The fund is expected to perform well during market downturns and late-cycle phases.
Investors should consider this fund for long-term investment, ideally seven years or more, as it can be risky and cyclical.
SBI Mutual Fund is launching the SBI Quality Fund (SQF), an actively managed fund focusing on high-quality stocks.
The fund will invest in around 30 stocks selected from a universe of 450, using a quality-factor framework.
Stock selection is based on metrics like high return on equity, low leverage, consistent earnings growth, and strong market positioning.
The fund uses four distinct strategies: widening economic moats, Quality at Reasonable Price (QARP), caterpillar stocks, and mean reversion opportunities.
The SBI Quality Fund is benchmarked against the Nifty 200 Quality 30 Index and aims to provide downside protection during market downturns.
