Delhi Protest Permission Pending as Mumbai Jail-Bharo Plan Advances

Opposition groups in India are protesting against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar.

They are unhappy about a voter-list review called the Special Intensive Revision.

Some protesters also want Kumar to resign.

A protest is planned at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar on October 2, but Delhi Police have not approved it yet.

Another group plans a Jail Bharo protest in Mumbai on the same day.

Mumbai Police said Shivaji Park has restrictions because it is a silence zone.

They advised organizers to find another place and request permission.

Congress and other parties are also holding demonstrations.

Political leaders are expected to discuss the matter at an INDIA bloc meeting.
