Amundi CIO Says India Could Benefit as AI Trade Cools

Amundi CIO Says India Could Benefit as AI Trade Cools

Investors around the world have been putting a lot of money into companies connected to artificial intelligence.

Vincent Mortier of Amundi says excitement about AI could cool if its future profits do not match high expectations.

He thinks investors may then look more closely at other places to invest.

Mortier said India has good economic growth and sound finances.

He also said Indian share prices are no longer expensive.

Amundi has more invested in emerging markets than benchmark indexes suggest.

Its portfolio has an 8–10% allocation to India and the same amount to China.

Mortier said India should have a larger place in global investment indexes.

He also said about 10% of his own equity portfolio is invested in India through a Nifty-linked fund.
