DGCA Proposes Free 48-Hour Flight Cancellations and Faster Refunds

Imagine you buy a plane ticket but then decide you can't go or need to change the date.

Usually, you might have to pay extra fees.

Now, India's aviation safety group, the DGCA, is thinking about new rules.

If they pass, you might be able to cancel or change your flight ticket for free if you do it within two days after you bought it.

This is like a special 'cooling-off' time.

This free change won't work if your flight is very soon.

The DGCA also wants airlines to give you your money back faster, within about three weeks.

Plus, if you accidentally misspell your name when booking, you might be able to fix it for free if you tell the airline right away.

These changes are happening because many people have complained about getting refunds and the extra costs involved.
